Art Club Applications are now available. If you are interested in joining Art Club, please pick one up from the Art Room window, complete, and return it to the folder by Oct. 19th.
PHOENIX RISING STAFF TO MEET: NEWCOMERS WELCOME!
The Phoenix Rising Newspaper Club will meet at 2:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Phoenix library. It will be done by 3:40 p.m., so please arrange to have a ride home. All Phoenix students are invited to attend and get more information and/or sign up for the club. If someone is interested, but cannot make the meeting(s), contact Mr. Thom Aiello, the advisor, at thomaiello@gmail.com.
We are hoping to have (mostly) separate meetings from the high school newspaper club this school year. There is already a short list of story ideas, but we really would like your ideas as well!
Email Mr. Aiello if you have any questions in advance, or if you can confirm if you will be able to attend or not.
Homecoming Week Activities
This week (Oct. 1-5) is Homecoming Week. Join us in celebrating our Comet Pride by participating in our Spirit Week Dress Up Days:
Tuesday- Jersey Day
Wednesday- Blue and Gold Day
Thursday- Throwback Thursday (Come dressed as a student from 1950, 1960, 1970, or 1980)
Friday- Class Color Day (5th-White, 6th-Yellow, 7th-Green, 8th- Blue, and Staff-Black)
Car Riders:
You may not be dropped off in front of school in the morning before 7:20. This includes being dropped off in or near the parking lot. If you are dropped off before 7:20, you will have to walk to the back of the school.
Hispanic Heritage Month
This week’s Hispanic Heritage Month trivia answer was Jorge Ramos. The winner is Tamara Zuniga in 7th grade!! Please see Mrs. Prado for your gift certificate. There are two more chances to win. You have the whole week to find the answer.

Aram Public Library
Please don’t forget to bring in your public library card or completed library card application on Wednesday, October 3. Ms. Katherine from Aram Public Library will be here during lunch to collect the applications. Remember everyone with a card or application will have their name put in for a drawing. The class with the highest percentage of cards and applications will win coupons for free ice cream from La Michoacana.
Box Top Homeroom Challenge!

Leaving School?
Reminder for all Students; if you leave the building for any reason during the day, please sign yourself out in the front office. It you’re not sure how to do this just ask Mrs. Huerta or Mrs. Mansfield. Thank you.
Late Arrivals
Attention Students! If you are dropped off by car at school, please have your parents use the back circle. If you are dropped off in the front of the building before 7:30 AM, you must go around and use the back door. The front circle and front doors should only be used after 7:30 AM.
High School Sports
Attention Sports Fans! The Delavan-Darien high school invites everyone to their home games. Just remember that you must be accompanied by your mom or dad in order to attend! Come and join the fun!!
Cell Phone & Earbud Rules
Cell phones CAN NOT be used during your lunch time and/or during your recess time. Cell phones should be out of sight from 7:20 AM to 2:46 PM and earbuds/headphones need to be removed upon building entry. If you need to contact your parent during the school day, you can use the student phone in the front office. Please ask your teacher before coming down to the office and be sure to get a pass from your teacher.
