Attention Students: Turtle Creek is in the need of 15 students to help out with family Conference Night on Tuesday, October 23rd from 5:15 – 6:45 PM. Students who participate will receive Community Service hours. If interested please sign-up in Student Services.
Attention Juniors & Seniors: An Admissions Representative from Paul Mitchell School of Beauty, Milwaukee, WI will be visiting DDHS on Tuesday, October 16th from 10:45-12:15 in the Student Services conference room #114.
Attention Students: Student Council will be meeting on Tuesday, October 16th after school in the Large Group room. This is a mandatory meeting. Please let Mrs. Hehn know if you are unable to attend.
Attention Students: Grand Geneva will have a couple of representatives here on Wednesday, Oct. 17th during the lunch periods to speak with anyone who is interested in a position at the resort during the upcoming winter ski season. The representatives will be at a table in the cafeteria. Stop by to speak with them for more information.
Attention Juniors & Seniors: An admissions representative from Ripon College, Ripon, WI. will be visiting D.D.H.S on Wednesday, October 17th, from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. in the Student Services conference room, Room #114. Please stop in to Student Services to sign up. You must have your teachers permission to attend.
Attention Seniors Needing to Complete the FAFSA:College Goal Wisconsin is a offering a FREE assistance meeting to support students and parents to complete the FAFSA! It will be held at Lake Geneva Badger High School on Wednesday, October 17, beginning promptly at 6 PM. This event is to inform parents, students and community members on FAFSA, as well as to provide lab time and assistance in completing the FAFSA. All who come and complete the survey will be registered into a drawing for one of 15 $1000 scholarships throughout the state. You will need the following items to complete your 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are considered a dependent student for financial aid purposes, you will also need these items for your parent(s).
- 2017 federal tax return and W2s
- 2017 untaxed income records, such as child support or veteran’s non-education benefits
- Information on savings, investments, business assets and farm assets (if applicable)
- Cell phone (if you have one)
- Driver’s License (if you have one)
- Social Security Number/Alien Registration Card/Permanent Resident Card
- Date of birth for parent(s)
- Month and year of parents’ marriage, divorce or separation
- FSA ID (if you have one). You can visit fsaid.ed.gov to create your FSA ID. For assistance with the process, please call 1-800-433-3243.
o The FSA ID is your signature, so it has to be unique to you and will be your FSA ID for life. o Every student and at least one parent of a dependent student will need an FSA ID. o If a parent already has an FSA ID or has more than one child attending college, the parent will use the same FSA ID to sign all applications, but each child must have his or her own FSA ID. o Each FSA ID user must have a unique mobile phone number and/or email address. It is highly recommended that a dependent student attend the event with a parent or guardian so the FAFSA can be submitted that evening.

Attention Students: Friday, October 19 is Picture Retake Day. Lifetouch will be located in the commons. If you ordered a picture packet and do not like your pictures, you need to bring your picture packet to the photographers when called via the PA and they will re-take your picture. If you DID NOT have your pictures taken that day due to an absence, you will be called to the commons via the PA. If you have questions, please contact Lifetouch at 866-955-8342.

Attention All Students: Gateway’s Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services programs will be hosting their Recruitment Event on Saturday, October 20th from 8am – 4pm at the HERO Center in Burlington. There will be free lunch, door prizes, networking opportunities and demonstrations. Did I mention that this is a FREE event? Feel free to stop by and take a look at how to become a volunteer or make this a career path! A lot of great information will be given! If you know of any students (or community members) who would be interested in Fire Science or EMS, please check out the flyer displayed in the hallway outside of the cafeteria.

Attention All Students: Veterans Foreign Wars Post 10173 in Delavan is hosting a Voice of Democracy Contest. The contest is open to 9th – 12th grade students. The contest is to write and record an essay on a patriotic theme. All entry forms must be submitted no later than October 31, 2018. The grand prize is $30,000. Community Service Opportunity: Wisconsin School for the Deaf is looking fo volunteers for their Book Fair, Nov. 26 – Dec. 4. Attention Juniors: Are you interested in a career in law enforcement. If so, you may be interested in learning more about the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy. The academy will be held June 24 -28, 2019 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Ft. McCoy, WI. The academy is offered to students who are currently juniors in high school who are good standing and recommended by their school. There is no cost to the student. The academy offers classroom instruction, hands on experiences coupled with required physical fitness participation. The students stay in the dorms at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy during the session. The application will be available in January 2019 at www.wilegion.org.
