Attention Students: Winter Dance Team Camp Tryouts are on Monday October 22nd & Tuesday October 23rd from 4pm – 6pm in the Dance Studio room. Attention Students: Turtle Creek is in the need of 15 students to help out with family Conference Night on Tuesday, October 23rd from 5:15 – 6:45 PM. Students who participate will receive Community Service hours. If interested please sign-up in Student Services.

Attention Students: The 2018 Driver’s Education Scholarship Application is now available. In order to qualify you must be 15-18 years old and financial need must be verified through work & wheel. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. McKay in Student Services for an application.
Attention Fall and Winter Athletes: Wallace’s One Way Driving School is offering a special “Evening” section of Driver Education at DDHS. This section is great for athletes and will be offered starting on October 22, 2018 and will be held in Mr. Speth’s Ag Room after athletic practices at 6:30-8:30pm. COMETEER NEWSPAPER MEETING; NEWCOMERS WELCOME! The D-DHS Cometeer Newspaper Club will meet at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the D-DHS Library. It will be done by 3:40 p.m., so please arrange to have a ride home. All D-DHS students are invited to attend and get more information and/or sign up for the club. If someone is interested, but cannot make the meeting(s), contact Mr. Thom Aiello, the advisor, at thomaiello@gmail.com. We are hoping to have (mostly) separate meetings at the high school this school year (instead of combining with/at Phoenix). There is already a list of story ideas, but we really would like your ideas as well! Email Mr. Aiello if you have any questions in advance, or if you can confirm if you will be able to attend or not.
Attention Students: There will be an Art Club Meeting this Thursday, Oct. 25 in room 148 at 2:45. The meeting should take about 20 minutes, all students are welcome!
Attention Baseball Players: There will be a very brief baseball meeting Thursday October 25 at 3:05 in the West Gym. The meeting will not be long. Anyone thinking about playing baseball this spring should attend the meeting to sign up and get information to help get ready for the upcoming season.
Attention All Students: Veterans Foreign Wars Post 10173 in Delavan is hosting a Voice of Democracy Contest. The contest is open to 9th – 12th grade students. The contest is to write and record an essay on a patriotic theme. All entry forms must be submitted no later than October 31, 2018. The grand prize is $30,000. Attention Juniors & Seniors: An Admissions Representative from Mount Mary University, Milwaukee, WI will be visiting DDHS on Tuesday, November 6th from 1:00-2:00 in the Student Services conference room #114.
Attention Seniors: FAFSA Workshop – Monday, November 12th, 5-7:00 PM at Delavan-Darien High School Quad 151. A Student Finance Specialist from Gateway Technical College will be present to aid in FAFSA form completion. This is a great opportunity to get support with completing the form. All Grade 12 students and families are invited to attend the workshop. It is highly recommended that a dependent student attend the event with a parent or guardian.

Community Service Opportunity: Wisconsin School for the Deaf is looking fo volunteers for their Book Fair, Nov. 26 – Dec. 4. Attention Juniors: Are you interested in a career in law enforcement. If so, you may be interested in learning more about the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy. The academy will be held June 24 -28, 2019 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Ft. McCoy, WI. The academy is offered to students who are currently juniors in high school who are good standing and recommended by their school. There is no cost to the student. The academy offers classroom instruction, hands on experiences coupled with required physical fitness participation. The students stay in the dorms at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy during the session. The application will be available in January 2019 at www.wilegion.org.
