Attention Students: There is no school Wednesday, November 19th – Friday, November 23rd for Thanksgiving break. Have a safe and happy holiday!
Attention Students: HUNT OFF HUNGER Delavan-Darien High School is partnering with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to fight off hunger during the month of November. Please bring non-perishable food into the high school anytime during open business hours and drop it off in the barrels located outside the front office. All food donated will go directly to our local food pantry at St. Andrew’s. There is a twist to this food donation, however, as Delavan-Darien High School will be competing against both Lake Geneva Badger and Elkhorn Area High Schools to see which district can get the most food donated. Let’s show our Comet Pride and win the Hunt of Hunger Battle of the Schools!!!
Attention all Seniors who drive to school: On Tuesday, November 20 we have the Reality Fair here at DDHS. SENIORS, please park in other areas of the parking lot so our guests can park closer to the building.
Attention Juniors & Seniors: An Admissions Representative from UW Stevens Point, Stevens Point, WI will be visiting DDHS on Tuesday, November 20th from 9:00-10:00 in the Student Services conference room #114.
Attention Students: Support Your DDHS Boys’ Basketball Teams on Friday, November 30, in conjunction with the local St. Andrew’s Food Pantry, by joining us for a night of hunting off hunger in our local community combined with entertainment by watching our boys’ basketball teams compete against Cudahy High School. Elementary / Middle School Admission = 1 non-perishable food item/ High School Admission = 2 non-perishable food items/ Adult Admission = 3 non-perishable food items. Each additional non-perishable food item donated will earn an additional ticket (per item) into the 50/50 raffle for a Walmart gift card! Winner will need to be present to win!
Community Service Opportunity: Wisconsin School for the Deaf is looking fo volunteers for their Book Fair, Nov. 26 – Dec. 4. They are look for people to help with the following: Decorate signs, Secure community sponsorships, Help serve food and refreshments, Organize and merchandise displays, Set up and pack up, Help shoppers, etc… If Interested please contact Nell Fleming at nell.fleming@wsd.k12.wi.us
Attention Juniors & Seniors: A Representative from the U.S. Air Force will be visiting DDHS on Wednesday, December 12th from 10:45-12:15 in the Student Services conference room #114.
Attention Seniors: Please check your email on information on how to submit BOTH your yearbook and senior slideshow photos. These photos are due no later than Friday, December 21st. No Exceptions. The photo parameters for the yearbook are as follows: JPEG (.jpg) digital image format is required. Your picture must be a vertical portrait (headshot). If you do not have your senior picture in by Dec. 21st your 2019 Lifetouch photo will be used. The yearbook staff has the right to request a different photo or senior quote if the above guidelines are not met. For the slideshow, you may submit two childhood pictures and a senior photo (no specific requirements). Additionally, you may submit two group photo with classmates/peers from elementary to high school. If you do not have these pictures in by Dec 21st, you will not be in the slideshow. Attention Juniors: Are you interested in a career in law enforcement. If so, you may be interested in learning more about the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy. The academy will be held June 24 -28, 2019 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Ft. McCoy, WI. The academy is offered to students who are currently juniors in high school who are good standing and recommended by their school. There is no cost to the student. The academy offers classroom instruction, hands on experiences coupled with required physical fitness participation. The students stay in the dorms at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy during the session. The application will be available in January 2019 at www.wilegion.org.
