Attention Students: COMETEER NEWSPAPER MEETING; NEWCOMERS WELCOME! The D-DHS Cometeer Newspaper Club will meet at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the D-DHS Library. It will be done by 3:40 p.m., so please arrange to have a ride home. All D-DHS students are invited to attend and get more information and/or sign up for the club. If someone is interested, but cannot make the meeting(s), contact Mr. Thom Aiello, the advisor, at thomaiello@gmail.com.There is already a list of story ideas, but we really would like your ideas as well! Email Mr. Aiello if you have any questions in advance, and to confirm if you will be able to attend or not.

Community Service Opportunities: Turtle Creek is looking for high school students to help out with the Turtle Creek Christmas Sing. Looking for 6 or so students. The hours are from 3:45-8 pm on Thursday, December 20th. Students will assist the adults at various posts with crowd management. They will report to the auditorium and meet with Donna Berg our music teacher. Students interested can sign up in Student Services.
Attention Students: FBLA will be having a bake sale is Monday, December 17 and Friday, December 21st during all 3 Lunches.
Community Service Opportunities: VIP Services has a new program called Rec Connect. Rec Connect is looking for volunteers to help with new programs, such as Holiday Crafting, Bakers Delight, Sports of Sorts, and many others. Student Services will have the entire Rec Connect Winter 2019 Activity Guide posted on their bulletin board for viewing.
Attention Seniors: Please check your email on information on how to submit BOTH your yearbook and senior slideshow photos. These photos are due no later than Friday, December 21st. No Exceptions. The photo parameters for the yearbook are as follows: JPEG (.jpg) digital image format is required. Your picture must be a vertical portrait (headshot). If you do not have your senior picture in by Dec. 21st your 2019 Lifetouch photo will be used. The yearbook staff has the right to request a different photo or senior quote if the above guidelines are not met. For the slideshow, you may submit two childhood pictures and a senior photo (no specific requirements). Additionally, you may submit two group photo with classmates/peers from elementary to high school. If you do not have these pictures in by Dec 21st, you will not be in the slideshow. Attention Students: During the entire month of December, consider supporting the Delavan-Darien High School Bands by eating at Wendy’s. You can either print and bring a voucher, or tell them when you dine there that you’d like to have your purchase go to support the Delavan-Darien High School Bands. Just say “DDHS Bands” or turn your voucher in when you order. 20% of your order will amount will go to support the Delavan-Darien High School Band Program.
Attention Juniors: Are you interested in a career in law enforcement. If so, you may be interested in learning more about the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy. The academy will be held June 24 -28, 2019 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Ft. McCoy, WI. The academy is offered to students who are currently juniors in high school who are good standing and recommended by their school. There is no cost to the student. The academy offers classroom instruction, hands on experiences coupled with required physical fitness participation. The students stay in the dorms at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy during the session. The application will be available in January 2019 at www.wilegion.org. Calling all DDHS students age 16 or older: If you’re a die-hard Brewers fan, the Milwaukee Brewers are looking for highly energetic individuals to work at the ballpark next season. Fans looking to take their support to the next level can now apply to be a member of the 2019 Brew Crew, the official entertainment team of the Brewers.Please note that applicants must be at least 16 years of age, live in the Milwaukee area year-round and have reliable transportation in order to be considered for a spot on the Brew Crew. Attention all students 16 years and older: Timber Ridge Waterpark in Lake Geneva is currently seeking Pool Attendants and Lifeguards. See the flyer on the Jobs bulletin board if you are interested. Students need to be ages 16 or older.
