Delavan-Darien today launched a new lunch menu system that gives students and parents more information about school meals than ever before.
The school district has partnered with Nutrislice.com, which will deliver school menus on an interactive website: http://ddschools.nutrislice.com/
This new menu system allows parents and students to see the full nutritional value of each item by simply clicking on the item to see its nutritional report.
The report shows serving size, calories, fat and saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates, fiber, protein, vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium and iron.
Each menu has a print-friendly option that is clean and informative, perfect for posting on home refrigerators. Carbohydrate counts can also be added to the printable versions, if desired.
The menu system is also translatable into Spanish. Menus can be viewed and printed in either English or Spanish. There is even a link to the MySchoolBucks page, where parents can manage and add funds to student lunch accounts.
Parents and students can also download iOS and Android mobile versions of the menu software, perfect for viewing on phones and tablets.
To start using the system, visit the website and, select the school and menu you wish to see from the pull-down menus at the top of the page.
The district’s main lunch menu page is in the quicklinks on our district homepage, or at: https://www.ddschools.org/lunch-menus/
