SOCCER BATTLE: Comets and Elks soccer match ended in a 2-2 tie in this season’s first “Battle of the Soccer Titans” Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Coming into the game, DDHS was ranked No. 1 and Elkhorn was No. 5 in the state coaches poll. Read the Janesville Gazette story about the game here.
The tie kept Delavan-Darien’s unbeaten streak at 35 games, extending to the beginning of last season.
The run is second-best in state soccer history at any division level, trailing only Marquette University High’s 54-game unbeaten stretch. Well done, Comets.
Principal Jim Karedes commented after the game: “The team played a great game and represented the Delavan-Darien Schoo District quite well. Our student-athletes, student fans, parents and community were respectful and supportive the entire evening as both schools competed aggressively.”
We’re #DDCometProud of all these great accomplishments!
