Kenna Timmerman, daughter of Teri and Kurt Timmerman, and Ismael Coello, son of Cleotilde Ramirez and Ismael Coello, have been selected as the Delavan Rotary Club students for the month of September.
Kenna participates in soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, student council and prom committee. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Kenna volunteers with the DD Booster Club, the Lacrosse Tournament, volleyball programs and camps, St, Andrew’s Parish events, Willowfield Nursing Home, clean-up at Spring Grove Cemetery, Coach for the Junior Comets and has helped organize many fundraisers. Kenna is undecided at this time about a major or school but is interested in environmental engineering, animal behavior and holistic health.
Ismael participates in soccer, wrestling, tennis, marching band, pep band, honor band, Jazz Ensemble, and Comet mentors. Ismael is a member of the National Honor Society. Ismael volunteers with the DD Booster Club, with youth and kids retreats, pit band for the school musical, the cream puff stand at the Walworth County fair and also volunteers at his church. After high school Ismael plans to attend UW-Milwaukee to major in materials engineering and fulfill his dream of working in a lab with many intriguing chemicals. He also plans to work to pay for the cost of tuition while in college. Ismael would also like to become an advocate for the minority population that is often not heard.
As recipients of this award, Kenna and Ismael were escorted by an administrator at DDHS to the Rotary Club luncheon at Lake Lawn Lodge on September 26, 2016.
