Announcements:

Community Service Opportunity: Help with Delavan Christian School Pie-Making and Sale Saturday, October 8, 2016 to: (1) Provide childcare – crafts, games, playground, etc. for children younger than 3rd grade (2) Help on the Apple Pie Assembly Line and help in the fun of assembling apple pies. Volunteers may work the morning shift (7:30 – 11:30), the afternoon shift (12:00 – 4:00) or all day.  More information is available on the DAYS website: Go to www.daysfoundation.org/volunteer

This Sunday we celebrate Leif Erikson.  Mr. Erikson was born in Iceland and raised in Greenland. Norse sagas written 300 years after his death describe his explorations, around 1000 CE, of a land he called “Vinland.” The location of Vinland remains uncertain, but it is widely believed to be on the North American continent.

A Representative from Concordia University, Mequon WI will be visiting DDHS on Tuesday, October 11th from 10:30 – 11:30 in the Student Services conference room.

DDHS Community Service Opportunity: Students can sign-up for community service hours in the student services offices for supervising (babysitting) for the elementary parent teacher conferences (Location to be determined). There are two nights, 4:30-8:30 (4 hrs. of community service each night), Thursday, Oct. 6 and Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Are you looking for volunteer hours or a fun way to spend your time around Halloween? Darien EMS is looking for volunteers to help with their Haunted Trail. You can help set-up, hand out goodies, be part of the ticket booth, or even dress up and scare people out on the trail! Interested students should stop by Student Services to sign up. The deadline to sign up is Friday, October 14th

A Representative from the U.S. Navy will be visiting DDHS on Wednesday, October 12th from 11:00 – 12:15 in the Student Services conference room.

If you are interested in studying overseas next year, please see Ms. Martin ASAP. Applications are due by October 17th.

A Representative from UW Whitewater, Whitewater, WI will be visiting DDHS on Monday, October 24th from 9:30 -10:30 in the Student Services conference room.

A Representative from UW Milwaukee, Milwaukee WI will be visiting DDHS on Thursday, October 27th from 1:00 – 2:00 in the Student Services Conference Room.

A Representative from Northern Michigan University Marquette – Michigan will be visiting DDHS on Tuesday, November 1st from 8:30-9:30 in the Student Services conference room.

A Representative from Marion University, Fond du Lac, WI will be visiting DDHS on Thursday, November 3rd from 12:00 – 1:00 in the Student Services conference room.

Juniors & Seniors: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid offers more than $150 billion each year in grants, loans, and work study funds for college or career school.  The application window opens October 1, 2016.  FAFSA and college planning information session: Date:  November 3, 2016 Location: D-DHS Auditorium Time: 6:00PM-7:00PM

ATTENTION ATHLETES:  If you are interested in a winter or spring sport and have not completed the online athletic registration yet you may do so at https://delavandarien-ar.rschooltoday.com A reminder that a current physical must be on file and ALL fees have to be paid before you can participate.  If you have questions, please see Mrs. Nordahl or Mr. Otte in the Athletic Office.
