Community Service Opportunity: Babysitting at Darien Elementary: Tuesday, December 19th 5:30 – 6:30 Sign up in Student Services

Attention Students: Turtle Creek is doing their Winter Spring Sing Concert here at DDHS. They are looking for 6 volunteers to help hand out programs and usher people to their seats.  Event date is December 19th from 4:30 – 7pm. If you are interested sign up in Student Services.  Please dress appropriately for this event, recommended attire is “Festive Holiday”.

REMINDER TO SENIORS: Senior pictures are due for the yearbook before Christmas break (December 20th)! Please have your chosen portrait emailed to knorton@ddschools.org or perezfonv05@stu.ddschools.org by this date or your Lifetouch photo will be used instead. If you have any questions contact Ms. Norton or Vianney Fonseca.

COMET CASH UPDATE: Students! Are you wanting to enter to win Comet Cash prizes, but worried about your name being called out? If this is the case, we have a solution for you! Simply write “DO NOT READ” or “DO NOT ANNOUNCE” on the top of Comet Cash that you enter for prizes. Then, whoever picks your Comet Cash will keep your name anonymous, and you will be notified of your prize privately. Don’t forget to still write your name on the Comet Cash so that we can come find you! Also remember, you can also use Comet Cash for snack cart items too! Start saving that Comet Cash! The semester assembly and large prize give-away will be January 23! Prizes will be revealed after break. Go Comets!

Attention All Students:  Wallace’s One Way Driving School is offering another after-school section of Driver Education at DDHS. The new section of class will be offered starting on January 3, 201 and will be held in Mr. Speth’s Ag Room after school at 3:20-5:20. Information and applications are available at our website www.wallaceoneway.com or feel free to call or text us at 262-949-0426.

Attention Winter Athletes:  Wallace’s One Way Driving School is offering a special “Monday Evening” section of Driver Education at DDHS. This section is great for winter athletes and will be offered starting on January 8, 2018 and will be held in Mr. Speth’s Ag Room after athletic practices at 6:30-8:30pm. Attention Juniors & Seniors: An Admissions Representative from Black Hawk Technical College, WI will be visiting D.D.H.S. on Wednesday, January 10th from 8:30 – 9:30 in the Student Services conference room. Please stop in to Student Services to sign up. You must have your teacher’s permission to attend. *Please note that the Student Services conference room in now Room #121

ASVAB: The ASVAB is also known as Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery.  The ASVAB isn’t just for students entering the military; it is one of the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world.  It gives students an opportunity to identify, understand and organize information about their skills, interests and work-related values. The test lasts about 3 hours.  We have study materials in Student Services if you are interested in preparing, especially those aiming for a career in the military.  Date:  Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 Time/Place: 7:45am/High School For:  Any 10th – 12th graders Sign up in Student Services by February 1st.

Attention all students 9th-12th grade: There will be two more opportunities to take the free ACT practice tests on Saturday January 27 & February 17 in the large group room from 8am 1pm.  Sign up in student services no later than the Thursday prior to the tests.  See Ms. Ortiz if you have any questions.
