DDHS PoolFrom Swim Coach Matt Palma:

Greetings swim families and community members,

Thank you for your continued interest and support of the Delavan-Darien Community Swim Team.  Since we’ve started, I’ve heard many positive and encouraging comments from people throughout our community.  I wanted to keep you updated on the exciting things we have in the works:
-If you have not yet done so, please like and follow our Facebook Page.  I will post updates about our progress there.
-The survey that was sent out several weeks ago generated significant positive feedback.  Nearly 40 parents responded and the results show that approximately 50 children are interested in a swim team.
-We are finalizing the details for the summer swim team/camp through the park and rec. You will be able to sign up in the next week or so.  I will keep you posted with the details.  Additionally, the park and rec. will also be offering swim lessons for those children that are not quite ready to be on a team.
-Our exploratory committee met recently to gather more details about starting a team.  We’d like to share that information with you at our next meeting which will be Tuesday, April 25 at 6 p.m. in the DDHS library.  This meeting will be about setting up a team with the goal of starting later in the year, hopefully in fall.  We hope to have parents in attendance who are willing to take on responsibilities that will be crucial to getting this team off the ground.  If you are unable to attend but would still like help out please let me know.
I’m excited for the opportunity to share this wonderful sport with the youth of our community.  The future is bright for Delavan-Darien Swimming!  Thanks again for your support.
Best,
Matt Palma
