The combined choirs of Delavan-Darien Schools performed together for the first time last night on the DDHS auditorium stage.
The Delavan-Darien School District Choir Festival was a collaborative effort by the elementary, middle school and high school choral music teachers, Ms. Berg, Ms. Guzman, Ms. Ropers-Rosendahl and Mr. Larson.

The concert began with the 4th and 5th grade Honor choir from Darien Elementary directed by Ms. Guzman and Ms. Berg. Then, the Phoenix Singers, directed by Ms. Ropers-Rosendahl took the stage followed by the Lydian choir from the high school.
These choirs are filled with the very best vocalists in our schools. It was powerful when all three choirs joined their voices for the finale; a rousing rendition of the song OYE, sung entirely in Spanish. This song comes from Acapulco, where inner city children were asked what they wanted to convey to the world in a song. Their answer was simple: “to listen.” Listening in English translates into “Oye” in Spanish.
Our audience was privileged to listen to these excellent voices in concert and look forward to the second annual DDSD Choir Festival next spring.
#DDCometProud of our talented, and nationally-recognized music students, staff and community!
