AFS needs host families for 2016-17

AFSATTENTION FAMILIES AND DELAVAN-DARIEN COMMUNITY:

AFS needs host families for 10 AFS International Exchange Students!

Walworth County AFS volunteers are looking for families to host high school international exchange students for the 2016-17 school year.

There are options to host from as few as 6 weeks to up to 10 months.

An AFS Host Family shares their home with a new foreign family member and they connect to the world. There are many different types of host families, from families with single parents, teenagers, young children or no children.

The exchange students arrive in August or early September and depart in June of the following year. Participants are carefully matched with the family, and local volunteers are always on hand to make sure that families and students have the support and tools needed for a positive experience.

Delavan-Darien High School has a long and proud tradition of hosting AFS students dating back to when the school first opened in 1957. In fact, in 2015, the school was named as the top-performing member for its continued support of the international student exchange program.

For more information or to apply to host contact: AFS Team Development Specialist April Shern at 920-206-5041 or via email at ashern@afsusa.org.

Learn more about the AFS program online at: http://www.afsusa.org/.
