Student Announcements:

Attention Students: NEWSPAPER CLUB MEETS THURSDAY; NEW MEMBERS SOUGHT The revived Cometeer Newspaper Club will meet this Thursday (Dec. 14) from 2:50 p.m.-3:50 p.m. at the Phoenix Middle School library. Please note the change in meeting time this week. New members are still being sought. Come to get more information or contact the club advisor, Mr. Aiello, at thomaiello@gmail.com If you are interested in the newspaper club, but cannot attend the meeting(s), contact Mr. Aiello by email. There are plenty of options. This is your chance to be heard in your school. Meetings are generally every other Thursday.

BAKE SALE:  Satisfy your sweet tooth AND help out your community! Student Council will be running a bake sale this week, Thursday and Friday (Dec 14th & 15th).  We will have a table with lots of treats set up outside the cafeteria for you to purchase during all 3 lunch periods.  All proceeds will go to the Delavan Food Pantry.

Attention: 
Please check your email the Library Staff have emailed you about the “Hour of Code Challenge”,  please help us reach our goal!  All the sites have a direct link in your email.  If you need it sent again, email pfleck@ddschools.org Next week is the “Hour of Code”, many of you have done this for the last three years.  This year the Library staff is “Challenging you” to log on to the High School Tech Portal (Will be ready to use by Dec. 2) and “Code”.  But this year there is an additional CHALLENGE!  During the weeks of December 2 – December 17 talk with someone who is NOT in our District, share your coding knowledge or just show them how easy it is to learn to code using the “Hour of Code” Website. After sharing please fill out this Google Form, share as often as you like during the 2 weeks and fill out the “Google Form”.  We hope you can get us over the “Blockly Thermometer” hanging outside the library.  We will also be updating the “Public” through Facebook on your success in meeting the “Challenge”.  Coding truly is your FUTURE.


Community Service Opportunity: 
Babysitting at Darien Elementary: Tuesday, December 19th 5:30 – 6:30 Sign up in Student Services


Attention Students: 
Turtle Creek is doing their Winter Spring Sing Concert here at DDHS. They are looking for 6 volunteers to help hand out programs and usher people to their seats.  Event date is December 19th from 4:30 – 7pm. If you are interested sign up in Student Services.  Please dress appropriately for this event, recommended attire is “Festive Holiday”.


REMINDER TO SENIORS:
 Senior pictures are due for the yearbook before Christmas break (December 20th)! Please have your chosen portrait emailed to knorton@ddschools.org or perezfonv05@stu.ddschools.org by this date or your Lifetouch photo will be used instead. If you have any questions contact Ms. Norton or Vianney Fonseca.

Attention Juniors & Seniors: An Admissions Representative from Black Hawk Technical College, WI will be visiting D.D.H.S. on Wednesday, January 10th from 8:30 – 9:30 in the Student Services conference room. Please stop into Student Services to sign up. You must have your teacher’s permission to attend. *Please note that the Student Services conference room in now Room #121

An Admissions Representative from UW Green Bay, Green Bay, WI will be visiting D.D.H.S. on Tuesday, January 16th from 9:15 – 10:15 in the Student Services conference room. Please stop in to Student Services to sign up. You must have your teacher’s permission to attend. *Please note that the Student Services conference room in now Room #121


Attention All students 9th-12th grade:  
There will be two more opportunities to take the free ACT practice tests on Saturday January 27 & February 17 in the large group room from 8am-1pm.  Sign up in student services no later than the Thursday prior to the tests.  See Ms. Ortiz if you have any questions.
